Meredith Persily Lamel, Founder

Meredith Persily Lamel draws upon fifteen years of work in the public and private sector offering her services as coach, consultant, facilitator and instructor to individuals, teams, and organizations. She founded MPL Partners, LLC in January 2006 through which she offers customized consulting, coaching, and professional development services.  Leaders and organizations call on Meredith during times of transition to facilitate the development of their vision and strategic goals.  She then supports their success through individual and/or team coaching, organizational consulting, and customized professional development programming.  She regularly uses appreciative inquiry, strategic planning retreats, and leadership assessments to support her work.  She facilitates over 30 strategic planning and organizational visioning retreats annually for corporations, nonprofit organizations, and Members of Congress.  Meredith also serves on the faculty of American University’s Kogod School of Business.

Her work with individual professional moms, as well as her recent experience becoming one, inspired the creation of Working MAMA, a group coaching program for professional, working moms.  She also coaches for MOMreturns, an executive coaching program that works with women who are returning to work after having children.

Meredith was Director of Training and Consulting for The Congressional Management Foundation. Through CMF, she performed assessments for House and Senate offices, facilitated retreats, coached Chiefs of Staff, and designed and delivered management and leadership training programs for senior congressional staff. She also wrote a management column entitled Chief Counsel for Roll Call newspaper.

From 2002-2006, Meredith was a Director of Executive Education of a leading consulting firm, based in Washington DC. Meredith was principally responsible for sharing best practices and insights with global clients through a variety of educational channels, including on-site presentations and teleconferences for multiple Fortune 500 companies. Her areas of expertise included leadership development, succession management, performance management, executive coaching and employee engagement.

She also consulted in the areas of management capacity building and strategic planning for USAID-funded projects for an international healthcare consulting firm. From 1994-1999, Ms. Persily held a number of positions at Pyramid Research, formerly the telecommunications division of the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU). She was the South America analyst for three years, based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and worked in Cambridge, Massachusetts as Latin America Research Director and then Deputy Director of Research.
